My name is Tara and I am a Registered Dietitian (RD). I received my bachelors of science degree in dietetics from the University of Maryland and completed my dietetic internship at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO.  Naturally I am a lover of all things food, nutrition, and health related (with the exception for my love of doughnuts). After graduating, I spent time working as a coach for a weight loss program before packing up and moving to the Midwest. Currently I work as a retail dietitian for a ShopRite grocery store in northern NJ.

I’ve lived in Maryland and Missouri, but am a Jersey girl at heart. I come from an active family and I have inherited my love of running from my parents.  When I’m not working, running, or sleeping, cooking and watching ice hockey are two of my favorite things to do. Throw me any recipe and I’ll try it!

On this blog you’ll find my reviews of all things food, nutrition, and sport related. Anything from recipes, popular diets or cleanses, and exercises classes  to nutrition-related books or even workout gear. Join me as I try new things and give them the Tara Tested stamp of approval.

  1. Tara…love the blog. Just “tested” Almond Milk. Love it. Great in my protein smoothies, also good as replacement for milk in morning coffee. Not bad also as a stand alone.
